Twenty years ago Carpe Mortem was released as the second album by The Crimson Ghosts. Now it returns.
The album has been completely remixed and remastered at Casket Garden Studio, giving these songs a new sonic life while keeping the spirit of the original recordings intact. And this is much more than a reissue. The new edition comes with a brand-new cover artwork and will be released as a double LP in a gatefold sleeve, with three sides of music.
Side 3 is dedicated entirely to a collection of seven bonus tracks, including demos, a rehearsal recording, a live recording, a 2024 re-recording and the original vinyl-only bonus track.
The gatefold also contains a large collection of previously unseen and archival photographs from the years between Leaving the Tomb and Carpe Mortem, alongside extensive liner notes by Nim Vind and Jackal.
And every copy of the double LP will be different. Each record comes with two different vinyl colours, creating an individual combination for every copy. And there’s still more: every double LP comes with a small card featuring a QR code that gives you access to a digital download of the album.
